Decorative Craftsmanship
A backyard patio is where family and friends gather throughout Utah's spring, summer, and autumn months. While individual pavers shift, heave in winter frost, and allow weeds to sprout in every joint, stamped concrete provides the luxurious look of natural stone with the strength of a single reinforced slab.
At Concrete Plus Contracting LLC, our stamped concrete combines structural groundwork with artistic attention to detail. We work with you to choose the right layout, shape, texture stamp, and coloring to complement your home's exterior.
We take time to stamp at precisely the right stage of the cure, apply accent release powders to highlight low-relief stone contours, and finish with a durable, weather-resistant acrylic sealer that shields the surface against UV fading and winter moisture.

Patio Styles & Options
We bring sample textures and color fans to help you visualize how your patio will blend with your architecture and landscaping.

We blend rich earth-tone pigment directly throughout the concrete batch, then apply a darker contrasting release powder to embed deeper shadows in joint lines and texture pits.
Flowing, curved patio edges framed with hand-tooled smooth picture-frame borders. We integrate curved step landings, fire pit pads, and perimeter landscape borders.
Replace rotting wood decks, cracked plain slabs, or uneven pavers with a spacious, low-maintenance decorative concrete patio designed for modern outdoor living.
Our Stamping Process
Decorative concrete requires careful timing. Here is how our team crafts a durable, beautiful stamped patio.
We spray-paint the patio perimeter, verify dimensions, and shoot grade levels to ensure rainwater drains away from siding, basement window wells, and foundation walls.
Grass, old slabs, or deteriorating decks are removed. We install a 4-inch crushed aggregate road base and mechanically compact it with vibratory plate tampers.
Flexible bender-board forms are staked to create smooth organic curves. We install expansion foam strips along house foundations to prevent binding as temperatures change.
Ready-mix concrete pre-blended with integral pigment is poured, consolidated, and bull-floated to bring the paste to the surface while maintaining proper slope.
At the exact stage of cure, contrasting release powder is broadcast across the slab. Interlocking rubber stamp mats are hand-tamped sequentially to impress clean stone textures.
After initial cure, excess release is washed off, expansion relief joints are saw-cut along natural pattern lines, and two coats of UV-resistant acrylic sealer are applied.
Estimate Variables
We evaluate these practical factors during your backyard consultation to provide a straightforward, detailed quote.
Larger footprints require larger finishing crews during the stamping window. Intricate serpentine curves require more custom forming labor than straight borders.
Detailed ashlar patterns require meticulous layout and joint touch-up compared to continuous seamless slate texture skins.
Single integral color pours differ in cost from projects combining two contrasting colors, stained border bands, or hand-stained accents.
Side gates wider than 48 inches allow motorized buggies. Narrow gates or steep hillside steps require wheelbarrows or concrete line pumps.
Integrated features like cantilevered step risers, fire pit circles, or hot tub pads add custom formwork and reinforcement details.
Tearing out old wooden decks, concrete slabs, or failing pavers and hauling them off is itemized clearly in the estimate.
Common Questions
Here are answers to the questions homeowners frequently ask when considering decorative concrete.
Texture, sealer selection, drainage and maintenance all affect footing. Discuss slip-resistant finishes for the intended use; a decorative finish is not a guarantee against slips.
Preparation, mix selection, drainage, jointing and appropriate care all affect performance. Discuss the finish and any sealer with the crew, including winter maintenance and project-specific instructions.
The appropriate sealer and maintenance interval depend on the finish, product, exposure and use. Follow the care instructions for the products selected for your patio.
Stamped concrete offers decorative textures across a poured surface. Compare appearance, joints, cleaning, repair options and maintenance alongside pavers or decking; no surface is free from upkeep or movement.
We can discuss connecting steps, landings and patio features as part of a coordinated layout. Structural, utility and access requirements for features such as fire pits or hot tubs need separate review.
Share rough dimensions, access photographs, the project city and examples of patterns or colors you like. We then discuss suitable options and the site-specific scope.
